Police scanner calls, that 19 News obtained from early that morning indicate that the victim could have been in a relationship with one of the three people who kidnapped her.They said, “Caller stating a male subject is trying to force his girlfriend into the trunk of the car.”
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office says this happened on Canal Road around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31. As the car with the woman trapped inside drove away, a witness tried to save her, but someone in that car opened fire, preventing any rescue from happening. “Possible gun shots for a male attempting to put a female in the trunk,” said an officer over the scanner. “Possible three suspects with guns.”Kentucky State Police say they knew the phone number of one of the kidnappers and were able to ping his cell phone to find their location.
When located the car, Kentucky State Police said over the scanner, “They are just North of the Madison Clays Ferry Bridge with a 4,000 meter radius.”The driver, Anthony C. Grinnel from Cleveland and his passenger, William L. Tate from North Carolina.This is still an ongoing investigation.
