Ahead of this weekend's game schedule, we take an in-depth look at all 12 teams in the WNBA to rank the best squads of the week.

As the WNBA season progresses, teams are finally starting to find their groove, well at least outside of the well-oiled machine called the Connecticut Sun who still only have one loss to their name.Though the Las Vegas Aces are the highest-scoring offense in the league, the Sun is the staunchest defensive team thanks in part to DiJonai Carrington who could be the fiercest point-of-attack defender in the W and has seen a leap this season to put her in contention for Most Improved Player.

Since Griner's return to the lineup on June 7, the Mercury are 4-1 in their last five games and 2-1 this week with their lone loss coming to the Aces. Before Griner's return, the team was led in rebounding by 42-year-old Diana Taurasi with five a game.Not only have the reinvigorated Mercury added size as of late, they also had one of the league's elite shooters Bec Allen return to the lineup after missing five games in concussion protocol.
