A professional mixed martial arts fighter who witnessed the deadly arrest of George Floyd in Minneapolis last May is due to return to the stand for the second day of testimony in the murder trial of Derek Chauvin

Donald Williams can be heard on a bystander’s cellphone screaming at Chauvin, who kept his knee on Floyd’s neck for about nine minutes during the arrest on May 25, 2020, shortly after Floyd was accused of passing a fake $20 bill.

Williams calls Chauvin a “bum” in the video, accuses the white police officer of “enjoying” his restraining of Floyd, a 46-year-old handcuffed Black man, and told jurors on Monday he believed that Chauvin was using his knee in a “blood choke” on Floyd, a wrestling move to knock an opponent unconscious.

The video, which prosecutors say shows excessive force, sparked outrage and daily demonstrations in the United States and around the world protesting police brutality against Black people. The trial is being watched as a litmus test for the U.S. justice system.Chauvin, 45, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, which carries up to 40 years in prison, as well as third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

In opening arguments on Monday, a prosecutor said Chauvin betrayed his badge “when he used excessive and unreasonable force upon the body of George Floyd.” Chauvin’s lawyers argued he was simply following training from his 19 years on the force and that the main cause of Floyd’s death, which the county examiner ruled a homicide caused by police restraints, was a drug overdose.

'Lawyers for Chauvin, 45, say he followed his police training and is not guilty of the charges brought by the Minnesota attorney' What a disgustingly stupid statement to make.this means all police with their hands in their pockets are allowed to choke and enjoy choking people.

Chauvin was doing what his Department had taught him to do in the case of a person having a drug induced panic attack. I don't think he enjoyed it at all. Chauvin appears to be on the brink of a panic attack himself with all those people surrounding him.

The video is so sickening. Cruel action of the police officer is derived from empathy. Empathy for the defenceless.

Why do courts needs witnesses when they have clear videos 🤔🤔

Rolling for mayhem either way. This is all going to be highly entertaining.

Mixed martial arts fighter says Derek Chauvin had George Floyd in a 'blood choke'i cant believe this happened to ANOTHER violent criminal who loved home invasions and holding pregnant woman at gun point. if he could have had MORE chances than the (OVER) 50 he was given then maybe he wouldnt have died of an overdose while resisting arrest for 25 minutes. Everyone has to have a due process under the United States Law. Innocent before proven guilty. But, this is a murder. Clearly, Derek Chauvin killed Floyd purposely; he’s racist. He enjoyed kneeling on the guy’s neck. 3 other officers did nothing to help Floyd. It’s a murder. Any Black man or woman that intervened would have been murdered by the cops too. The Asain cop should have stopped it. The 911 operator knew it was wrong by the camera, that cop did too.

Trial set to begin for former Minnesota officer Derek Chauvin in death of George FloydThe trial for Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer charged in the death of George Floyd, is set to begin Monday morning. We cannot bring back George Floyd, but we can prevent another tragic incident. George Floyd had an option to just take a seat. To save future lives, please listen to me. Resisting arrest is pointless. There is nothing gained. Please stop. If you were on the jury and didn't believe he was a 2nd degree murder you better be prepared to change your name and move house, because people will be out of blood no matter the evidence. Personally i think it looks more like manslaughter but I just glad I ain't on the jury. 20yrs in Prison

Derek Chauvin attorney's tense exchange with George Floyd witness goes viralDuring Donald Williams’ second day of testimony in the case of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin's trial in George Floyd's death, there was a tense exchange with him and Chauvin’s attorney Eric Nelson. I understand that's his job but it doesn't help his client. I love Donald Williams. He put that attorney in his place. Did he not hear his martial arts background? This desk boy didn't see it coming. Go use that brush and paint someone else with it. Pay attention ppl
