The Supreme Court's decision allowing states to ban abortion immediately stirred alarm among LGBTQ advocates, who fear the ruling could someday allow a rollback of legal protections for gay relationships, including the right for same-sex couples to marry.

“And to ensure that our decision is not misunderstood or mischaracterized, we emphasize that our decision concerns the constitutional right to abortion and no other right,” Alito wrote. “Nothing in this opinion should be understood to cast doubt on precedents that do not concern abortion.”

“If there is a thought that this could apply elsewhere, you know, they’re not going to say it here, and we’re just going to have to see,” Dupont said. Still, a sharp increase in anti-LGBTQ rhetoric in the U.S. and opposition to some forms of birth control from some quarters on the right have advocates concerned that those rights are vulnerable.

At the White House, President Joe Biden pledged to do everything in his power to defend a woman’s right to have an abortion in states where it will be banned. He warned that the ruling could undermine rights to contraception and gay marriage: “This is an extreme and dangerous path.

Be afraid, Gay marriage and contraception is next

Lol.......Killing babies is completely and scientifically uncorrelated to same sex couples

What unmitigated horse crap their 'roll back' concerns are. There is a hard distinction between what consenting adults do ... and the protection of the innocent and vulnerable. Way to go to further dispel the stereotype that gays are inherently overly emotional drama queens.

Maybe people should go to their state legislatures to get those things previously granted under badly-decided case law firmly secured by statute. Shouldn’t be hard - unlike abortion, there’s a cultural consensus around legal contraception, gay relationships and gay marriage.

Of course the LGBTQ community has to take something that has nothing to do with them and make it about them.

More good news on the way?

Evil has lost today. Hopefully more will come to repair the damage that has been made

How are babies and gays related?

Maybe also because justice insurrection said those should be overturned, as have many gop officials. Not some random fear.

SheIsTenacious Next up... Thomas Already promised.

TuJadili Imagine hearing that hundreds of thousands of babies won’t be murdered, and immediately having a paranoid fit about how it may affect you

Roe v Wade overturn means in vitro clients can be accused of murder for destroying any fertilized eggs/embryos. AbortionBan

Lol

A great day for 'the good and virtuous'. Evil is on the run.
