A winter storm warning has been issued for parts of Montana and Wyoming with heavy snow and high winds expected.The National Weather Service said that snow accumulations between 1 and 2 feet could be seen in Absaroka/Beartooth Mountains, with wind gusts reaching 35 mph.It added that snow rates could exceed one inch per hour in the Bitterroot/Sapphire Mountains above 5,000 feet, and that snow accumulations will vary depending on elevation.
What the hell? It snowed all the way to Montana yesterday. Apparently, the great state of Wyoming didn't receive the memo that it's almost June.'This weather, which also affects higher ground in Idaho, is being brought on by a 'rather deep and compact upper-level low from Alaska sweeping across the northwestern U.S.,' the NWS said in its forecast discussion.This is the system that is ushering in a cold air mass through the western U.S.
