We chat with LyleLyleCrocodile star Winslow Fegley about what it felt like to act alongside a man playing a reptile, and which song Shawn Mendes would have to sing to him in Josh's place:

Dancing animal enthusiasts, Shawn Mendes fans, and family filmgoers all have a new movie to love: Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which premiered on October 7. Based on a series of children's books by Bernard Weber, the musical movie takes a generally feared creature and turns him into a household pet with a song in his heart—with a voice like Shawn Mendes, no less.

Winslow Fegley: I don't really know exactly how it works; the technology and everything that went into it. But there were a lot of people and a lot of time spent making Lyle. Originally, he was a guy—an actor in a suit, basically—with all these sensors and stuff tracking his motion. He had a big wire helmet with cameras and everything that tracked his face, and his name is Ben Palacios. He's a good friend of mine.

Winslow Fegley: I would hope that people take away, or maybe that I learned while looking at the film and playing Josh, not to care what anyone else thinks. You do you, and just be confident in yourself.
