Wind advisories around the Sound have led to thousands without power, according to Puget Sound Energy.

According to the National Weather Service, areas in western Whatcom County and the east Puget Sound lowlands are under wind advisories until 6 p.m. tonight.East Puget Sound areas should expect east winds from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph as well. Both alerts warn that gusty winds could blow unsecured objects around, and tree limbs could be blown down, resulting in possible power outages.

By 10 a.m., nearly 15,000 customers were without power, mostly near Covington and Enumclaw, according to Puget Sound Energy.
