“Wilson Aquatic Center has still not reopened”

“I share residents’ frustration that the Wilson Aquatic Center has still not reopened. My team and I have been in frequent contact with DGS and DPR leadership to press for transparency and to get the pool open and operating reliably as soon as possible.

“The Department of General Services and the Department of Parks and Recreation share your desire for the Wilson Aquatic Center to reopen immediately. While in the final stages of pre-inspection duties, a leak was discovered during the pool refilling process. We recognize the Wilson Aquatic Center’s importance to our community and are committed to reopening it promptly after the repairs are completed. While we don’t have a definitive reopening date, please know that both DGS and DPR are working diligently to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.I do not doubt DGS’ efforts to get the pool repaired nor the challenges created by deficiencies in the original construction of the aquatic center.
