Willie Nelson, Missy Elliott, Cyndi Lauper, George Michael and Sheryl Crow headline the field of 14 nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which were announced Feb. 1.
Crow, Elliott, Joy Division/New Order, Lauper, Michael, Nelson, The White Stripes and Zevon appear on the ballot for the first time. George Michael, who died in 2016, was a star during a solo career that he enjoyed after success with Wham!Interestingly, Bush has appeared on the ballot in previous years, but enjoyed anin 2022 after her song “Running Up That Hill” was featured in “Stranger Things.”

I know a lot of people will criticize the choice of George Michael but he deserves it for his songwriting ability alone. His songs endure and he had a ton of talent.
