Published: Mar. 26, 2024 at 4:37 PM EDTCLEVELAND, Ohio - It is the “talk of the town” in Cleveland. The lease for the Browns stadium in Cleveland ends in 2028. It’s up the air if they will stay at the current stadium or move to Brook Park.
Renovating the stadium is option. The owners, Jimmy and Dee Haslam, say option two is the possibility of purchasing 176 acres of land in the city of Brook Park here on Henry Ford. They say neither option is better than the other. “This is new news us to us. Mr. Haslam has reported to the media there is a possibility of a renovation or maybe moving into the suburb. That’s all we know,” said Mayor Edward Orcutt.“Right now there is nothing imminent about them coming here so there is nothing for us to get excited about. Me being a former military person, I start thinking about safety, traffic, things of that nature and that’s where I am at right now,” said Orcutt.
We meet regularly with their team to refine shared terms and come to a joint vision and acceptable deal for both parties that improves the experience for residents, sports fans and visitors. HSG has been a great partner and I look forward to continued collaboration and conversation to find the best solution.”Copyright 2024 WOIO. All rights reserved.
