Two immediate steps are critical: • Protecting highly vulnerable individuals • Breaking the transmission process 'Everything else — economic ramifications and so forth have to be secondary,' a sustainable development professor says.

And most notably, Americans throughout the country have decided on their own to stay home — to protect themselves, their families and neighbors.

All of these steps are being taken to somehow arrest the spread of the coronavirus. But all of these steps also contribute to a sudden, violent contraction in the economy. The measures to protect public health are on one end. The normal activities that generate economic growth are on the other. And right now, we've put our weight firmly on the public health side of the seesaw. Saving lives is the priority.

Because in a downward spiral people with money make more money. Misery is profitable to some people and those people own the GOP. 2008 saw millions lose their homes but stevenmnuchin1 remembers it as a glorious time of plenty

I’m trying to protect two highly vulnerable people that I love and care about very much, my mom and my brother who has cerebral palsy. I chose to self isolate. They closed the libraries where I workto the public but employees have to work. I ran out of sick leave. What to do?🙄😔

Getting money in desperate people hand now is 1. Elderly very ill, I got to order everything to be delivered. Barely keeping heat on now. A phone Ha. Must miss a meal to afford one
