Why Star Wars Changed Star Wars Rebels' Most Famous Spaceship For Ahsoka (& Not For Rogue One)

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The famous Star Wars starship Ghost made the jump from animation to live-action in Ahsoka, and its depiction needed some extreme changes. Introduced in Star Wars Rebels, the Ghost is the ship that carried Ahsoka, Ezra Bridger, and other crew members who starred in Ahsoka.

The beloved ship endured massive changes when changing from animation to live-action. In a video released by IndieWire, production designers Doug Chiang and Andrew L. Jones explained why they changed the Ghost and how they earned the approval. With Dave Filoni giving them the right to adjust the ship, they chose to shrink it, so that it could be better suited for an on-screen live-action depiction.

"A lot of times in our sets, the interiors don't match the exteriors... We wanted to make sure we were keeping to the spirit of the actual design, but we made it real. For example, what we did for the Ghost, it was a terrific design, but it was massive. And so Dave gave us the license to actually shrink it down, flatten it out a little bit to give it a little bit more sexy profile, so that it looked like an updated version, but your memory of it is still correct.
