No longer a joke, meggings have lately been spotted everywhere from social media to the Gucci runway to the coffee shop. Here, what sets these newfangled men’s pairs apart.

in the fashion world long enough and you’ll see punchlines become true trends. The latest example? Men’s leggings. Once mocked as the leave-nothing-to-the-imagination sibling of skinny jeans, men’s leggings have lately seen a boost in popularity. Gucci’s runway pairs had banana-yellow streaks running down the side while Kapow offers versions in velvet leopard print and reflective gold. “If I’m feeling a little more festive, then I might wear a pair of leggings,” said David Scronce, 62, a retiree in San Francisco who owns pairs in houndstooth and tartan. Men are not wearing these things. Why the WSJ comes out once in a while with one of these bizarre fashion articles on men is strange. They must be sponsored is all I can think of. Just stop it, it's dumb. No, it doesn't count that there are actually a few metrosexuals doing this.

Pitiful trend
