My Polish surname also has an accent mark, it's very common in the language, but we never use it, and it's fine. We accept an anglicized version since we are not living in native land.
I wonder when folks of German descent will start using Umlaute (ä, ö and ü) in their last names again. And Scandinavians ø, å, æ, etc. 🙄😂
