In order to answer this question, we need to look at the articles. The first one was published in January 2021. The authorthat he thought “Tesla’s new KITT-style steering yoke” would not just be awkward but potentially unsafe, and shared his thoughts as to why.
The author actually did give a nod toward Tesla but refocused back on to Lexus, which is doing something different with its yoke. Lexus used a technology called One Motion Grip . It doesn’t have a physical mechanical connection to the front wheels. He added that it felt almost completely natural on a fast-paced track or highway but is awkward at lower speeds where learning curves factor in.
Editor’s note: In conversations with him last year, race car driver Blake Fuller strongly criticized the Tesla yoke. At the same time, he said it would have been much better if it had been a steer-by-wire system like this. I think this is pretty much established fact among those who now much about this topic. —Zach ShahanThe author seemed to like the new Lexus yoke but said that he wasn’t sure if it was a solution to any actual problem.
foxy_huang Racism. Haha
The photo used for this article is not picturing a Tesla yoke; it is showing an aftermarket yoke for a Tesla Model 3. Tesla's yoke is only available in the Model S and Model X vehicles, and it includes many more controls. When writing an article, at least know the subject.
Trading risk, drive buy wire has its own risk. Once you go drive by wire easy two automate curve. Drive by wire should work great! until it doesn’t . How is Lexus mitigating lose of control?
Another click bait yahoo story was the top ten worst cars with a picture of a Tesla Model 3, but when you read the list the Model 3 was not included in the list but mentioned Ys and Xs
Or they are all terrible.
The anti-Tesla spin never stops.
It‘s just a question of money.
Because Toyota spends over $4B on advertising….🤔🤷🏻♂️
Because people are jealous of tesla.
Terrible article, zero mention of the differences between the systems, just outrage-bait. The Lexus system is better because it only turns 150° max, not needing hand-over-hand maneuvers for sharp turns. The Tesla yoke has a regular steering ratio (like on the right here).
Because Tesla doesn't spend on ads in media.
United States of China
Only one car ever did the yoke right.
Neither is practical
Totally disingenuous. Makes no mention of the fact Lexus reduced lock to lock & engineered a new steering solution to accommodate using a yoke. Tesla did NOTHING to accommodate the yoke. They just swapped for a wheel to yoke. Lexus’ implementation is far superior. Telsa’s choice.
'Toyota paid us, make an ad about Yoke being good.' 'But sir, we said 'Yoke bad' in last post about Tesla.' 'Ok. Find any differences. Anything tiny will be fine. Write something about its size or more buttons being better. Don't let me tell you what an excuse is'
Beacause it's not a tesla...
Because Tesla can't engineer and implement a Yoke properly and Lexus can, that simple.
Wow. Your own article states why right? Different design with different functionality, especially regarding hand over hand.
Both suck
Drive-by-wire and variable steer ratios VS. chopped off steering wheel … answered your question
From the article: “(Lexus) completely electronic system”. The Lexus offers drive-by-wire and variable steer ratios whereas the Tesla yoke literally is just a chopped off traditional steering wheel …
Lexus’ solution is variable ratio.
Because They Prefer The Copy Over The Original Every Time. History Has Proved This Time and Time Again.
Because tesla doesn't pay for advertisements?
Wait... when did Tesla start using Yokes?😡 what is this...eggs are meant to eat! Is this fake news!?
Seems kinda fishy 😒😑🤬
Because there is Journalism and there is Journalism As A Service, sold to the best bidder
😂🤣 you see the new Lotus? 😂🤣
If you all are going to be writing about cars, it's important you learn some of the basic technology behind it. The main thing that makes the Lexus implementation better is the variable steering ratio, you failed to clearly mention this in your article. JohnnaCrider1
Because one is a Tesla and the other isn't. It could have been a ford, gm, bmw or any other OEM so long as it is not Tesla it will always be better because officiating medium is bought and paid for by the OEMs. You seriously didn't know the reason?
'Because Toyota & Lexus pay us'
Toyota pays for shills, same as Hyundai-Kia and Honda-Acura
Because Toyota pays for advertising and Tesla doesn’t
