Why is smoke from Canada impacting the Philadelphia region and when will it go away? Here's what we know:

These images from Drone 6 show the Philadelphia skyline on Monday, June 5 and after the smoke from the wildfires in Canada moved in on Wednesday, June 7.The reason we are seeing such concentrated smoke has everything to do with the weather.

As we get into Saturday, that block begins to ease some with low pressure exiting eastward. When this happens we should begin to dilute the flow of particles and slowly improve air quality. They also recommend staying inside; keeping your windows and fireplaces shut; and run the air conditioning on a recirculation setting.
