House prices are increasing at their fastest rate for more than a decade. These graphics explain why.

Probably works the same way as in the states. When interest rates go down, builders and lending institutions gouge rising the price making up the difference that the consumer would otherwise save. Despite all this B.S. now you know and will observe how it happens from now on!
