Hill is an actor and fellow comedian who has voiced a recurring role in Burr's Netflix series 'F is for Family' since 2017.

, is receiving widespread attention for hisdebut by referencing a handful of topics dominating national conversations right now.

In addition to comments about cancel culture and the novel coronavirus, he discussed the ongoing movement against systemic racism in the U.S., primarily calling out white women who have positioned themselves"at the front of the line." Burr's performance prompted debate on social media, as responses began to pour in Saturday night and continued through Sunday.

Reactions from viewers were varied, with some taking offense to the monologue, some calling it accurate, and more still feeling the stand-up act simply was not funny. Many cited the language Burr used when talking about women, people of color and LGBTQ people in their criticisms, calling it homophobic, misogynistic and crude, particularly since he is a white, straight man.

We're still writing headlines like this in 2020? Seriously?

Bill Burr is a legend. A comedian's comedian. He makes you tense, no matter where you are on the political spectrum, then surprises you with non-nonsense truth-bombs from entirely outside our binary discourse. Welcome to Bill's world, haterz.

She'll be over the moon about this..

I feel like Newsweek wants to make it clear that Burr is a nigger lover and he shouldn't be taken seriously. Why else would you go to this length to show his spouse after the joke about Karen's on Sunday? smh

What did he say that was untrue in that SNL monologue?

I don't know how I feel about Bill Burr in general. Not just SNL. I can't tell - he's so equally hateful (that's a compliment) that he's going to make you laugh & step on your toes next.

You know this drove woke twitter crazy when they found this out because they couldn't call him a racist.

Why is this even a subject?

Why do we have to get informed of somebody who doesn't merit to be informed of? Had he been THAT gifted, for sure we would have heard about him way earlier. Might be that I've missed on him, but I don't recollect anything worthwhile about this guy

I love comedians who tell the uncomfortable truth. I grew up on Richard Pryor and George Carlin.

Let her be. There's no reason to bother her.

First tell the readers who Bill Burr is

Who the f*** is Bill Burr?

Who's fucking business is it?

Who cares

Who is Bill Burr?

yes

Who is Bill Burr even?

‘SNL’ Host Bill Burr Raises Eyebrows With Monologue Tackling COVID, Cancel Culture, Woke Movement & Gay PrideBill Burr kicked off his Saturday Night Live debut displaying his non-politically correct stand-up style and raising eyebrows. He began by respecting anti-maskers’ decision not to coverup dur… It wasn’t that bad. Random twitter losers does not count for 'raising eyebrows.' Normal(not mentally ill) people can appreciate good comedy His joke about 'gay pride' and 'equator people' sickened me. Absolutely disgusting. This is one of the worst SNL's I've ever seen.

'I had to change the channel': 'SNL' host Bill Burr divides fans after controversial opening monologueComedian Bill Burr didn't hold back in his controversial 'Saturday Night Live' opening monologue. I loved every uncomfortable word of it. billburr is a comedic force. Love that guy Comedy has to be based on reality. Bill misrepresented MeToo. Tarana began using the phrase 'Me Too' in 2006 to raise awareness of all women who had been abused. And the jokes about seniors, John Wayne (racist, anti Semitic, bigot), seniors and the Coronavirus were not funny. He did hold back. A lot! But just not as full of it as what we hear daily on TV.

'Did Bill Burr really just say that?' Mixed reactions follow controversial SNL monologueThe comedian touched upon cancel culture, LGBTQ pride and white women's involvement in anti-racism advocacy. He’s unafraid of forcing people to hear out loud the voices in their head. I feel I may have been a bit harsh to Democrats, so in the spirit of fairness, here they are in their own words. You will recognize the voices... He can say whatever he wants.
