sheilaaj I just had that discussion with my High School senior. 2 months before his 18th birthday. I let him know that I had one job - save for his college - and I failed.

Maybe instead they should discuss not moving into a $1300 studio with $28K in loans on a $36K salary

Privatize the universities. We'll see no more conspiracies between the gov't, higher ed and banks who want to continue this student loan ponzi scheme if we make the government go bye-bye. They can't overcharge if they're competing for pricing.

Well since we have made it acceptable for 18 year olds to sign up for debt in the tens-of, if not hundreds-of, thousands of dollars that escalated inflation of college costs.... I’m pretty sure the average student knows who is paying.

No worries. Taxpayers will forgive any or all college debt.
