; they said they were more inspired by forward-looking companies trying to solve the world’s biggest problems.
“This generation is looking at all of the issues and trying to say, ‘How can we start to be part of the solution to the problems that the older generation created for us?’” says Lori Rosenkopf, vice dean of entrepreneurship at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
Other young people were inspired by the trope of the startup founder who struggles on the way to success. One mentioned Musk sleeping on the floor in the Tesla headquarters, which they said showed grit. A few also mentioned the tale offounder Brian Chesky, who maxed out his credit cards and subsisted on ramen noodles in the startup’s early days.
Well, Jobs is kinda dead and Facebook feels like it's dying, slowly, painfully... Musk just keeps on innovating.
mateus, já deu, né, seu lixo?
Success without selling out. Perfection.
How much did insecure musk pay for this praise? He’s so sensitive and needing of attention. 😂😂don’t believe me read his latest tweets!
Here is your “role model”:
The guy that grew up in an ultra-wealthy family in South Africa... k 🙄
if elon musk is a role model to you then securing funding is the least of your worries
Fake it till you make it.
Another victim of society divisiveness when aspiring entrepreneurs see ‘business’ value in needing to be the same sex, race and sexual orientation as their ‘business’ role model. My role is female and based on merit.
Good or ill? WTF? “Baghadjian and Saleh now worship Elon Musk, whom they see as a billionaire on an ethical mission. “He’s shown that you can do the best thing for the world and reap the benefits at the same time,”… and that’s from your OWN article. What’s “ill” about that?
Steve Jobs was an unvarnished asshole, Zuck never did anything that fascinating and then it turned out it was evil. Elon is better than all of them, with Gates second as he appears to try but actually accomplishes - what, exactly?
Get ready for more over-hyped products with poor quality control and checkered safety records, pretending to be an expert on topics in which you have no specialized knowledge, crypto shilling, and workaholism. Can't wait! 🤦♂️
Why, that would be BakedBings
If we shouldn't eat at night, why is there a light in the fridge?
Musk has like 7 kids he abandoned. Real good guy to look up to
This is what's wrong with Society dude. Media and people should just stop compering themselves with others and idealizing them. Do what you love be yourself and enjoy being yourself dude :)
Other than taking a stance on something, where’s the encouraging words for people that look up to villains and heroes.
He’s solving fossil fuel dependence, harnessing solar power, providing internet to the third world, and treating brain disorders. He already created modern borderless payment systems. Oh and he gives a shit ton of money to worthy causes. Name someone doing more.
Musk, odious as he is personally, has set up two profitable companies that are tackling clear and present problems (space travel and battery tech) that government can't really solve or compete on. Pretty clear to me why he's admired.
Successful entrepreneur here. Not as rich as Elon but also, I want to be a better human than him
It's a matter of vision, attitude and character. elonmusk is John Galt... then there's everyone else. Or in more practical everyday terms, which of these persons would I want to sit down and have a beer with? John Galt
More than a dozen could mean 13 right?
I don't know Musk that well. Is he really on an 'ethical mission'?
Makes sense in 2022 that kids idolise the lazy rich.
We’re fucked
