Amid sexual misconduct allegations against Andrew Cuomo, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer suggested there’s a double standard for Republican and Democratic politicians facing allegations

"We just had a president who lasted all four years with numerous allegations against him,” Whitmer said.Amid sexual misconduct allegations against New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer suggested Thursday there’s a double standard for Republican and Democratic politicians facing allegations.

“Is there a different standard for different sides of the aisle? We just had a president who lasted all four years with numerous allegations against him, so far as rape. No one on his own side of the aisle was making observations about whether or not he should stay in office,” Whitmer said during a POLITICO Live event. “So is there a different standard? I guess one could conclude that.”

"But weighing in on that, I don't know [if that] gets either one of us very far," Whitmer said to POLITICO White House correspondent Anita Kumar. The first-term Democrat said Thursday that the allegations against Cuomo should be vetted and taken seriously and that she supports New York Attorney General Tish James’ investigation, but that she wasn’t going to prejudge the investigation.

“If [the allegations] are true, then there should be accountability,” said Whitmer, who also said she is a survivor of sexual assault. “But until that investigation happens, I don’t know that you can make a conclusion.”

GOP when NYGovCuomo* accused of impropriety: “he should resign! Lock him up! GOP when mattgaetz** accused of crimes: “he’s innocent til proven guilty! WitchHunt!” * or alfranken * or tRump, Roy Moore, Brett Kavanaugh, GymJordan...

only thing Cuomo probably should step down for is the Covid stuff. The rest needs to be proven first AND it needs to be coupled with calls for Madison Cawthorn to step down too, then.

Cuomo’s allegations seem to be PROVEN! ‘Alleged sexual misconduct’! Sending ill, COVID INFECTED SENIORS, back to their facilities, STARTING A WILD FIRE OF INFECTIONS AND DEATHS - then HIDING THE TRUE, tragic, alarming NUMBERS!

UN PROVEN ALLEGATIONS.. JUST THAT! UN PROVEN!

Allegations against Trump yes. Are there ANY allegations against Trump during his time in Office as the President? Are there any allegations against Cuomo during his time in office I don't care what either of them did before, but once in office they must behave. OR OUT

Typical political BS by GovWhitmer Why not just deal with the perp at hand, rather than focus on what 'others' may or may not have done?

Does she believe Tara.
