White House to meet with top tech companies about online extremism

The White House will play host Friday to officials from Silicon Valley to discuss ways to combat the rise of violent extremism online, NBC News has confirmed.

White House spokesman Judd Deere said Wednesday that the staff-led meeting will include senior administration officials along with representatives of a range of big tech companies. The companies were not identified. It was not clear whether President Donald Trump plans to join the meeting.The sit-down was scheduled in the wake of Saturday's deadly mass shooting in El Paso, Texas. The suspected gunman apparently posted a racist screed on the message board 8chan shortly before the attack.

Sources familiar with the meeting tell NBC the intended focus of the meeting is not on hate speech, but on violence.on Monday, Trump called for law-enforcement officials,"as well as social media companies, to develop tools that can detect mass shooters before they strike." A spokesman for Twitter declined to comment. Representatives for Google and Facebook did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Start with Trumps Twitter account. He spews racist hatred almost daily. He should be arrested for inciting the most recent massacre, which was clearly a result of his racist beliefs.

Trump fielded more than 2000 Facebook ads ranting about an invasion of migrant rapist, drug dealers and murderers. Now he looks ridiculously like a Grand Dragon of the KKK trying to promote race relations.

Let someone else solve the problem? Not what a leader does!

I got a tool for that, just have someone follow Trump and kick every time he starts to speak. You’ll eliminate at least 1/2 the hate speech on TV thus lowering mass shootings.

So everyone who does mass shooting has access to the internet, are they going to develop a tool to find out their intent before they know it themselves. Taking the cowards way out, instead of confronting the NRA he will do anything not to bring in gun control!
