White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Thursday night offered a preview for the Biden administration’s next steps with student debt, following President Joe Biden’s move earlier this month to extend the pause for federal student-loan repayments through Aug. 31.
But taking executive action to cancel some level of student debt is still on the table, according to the White House spokeswoman. The Biden administration has been reviewing the legality of broad cancellation by executive action and hasn’t announced a decision. “Even though the economy is very strong — we created more jobs last year than any year in history — even though that’s the case, we know, as we’ve been talking about, costs are too high,” she said.

So the colleges and universities charged outrageously high tuitions. Now US taxpayers should pay off their student’s loans? Why don’t the colleges and universities that got all of the money help pay off their loans? While they are at it they can also lower the cost of tuition.
Pretty disrespectful to all the hard working small business owners that took out a loan to finance their business. The vast majority of those that hold this type of debt (by nature of being educated) are likely more well off than the former mentioned group.
