, chances are you are already familiar with Whipple’s work. The brand has been cranking out twin-screw superchargers since 1987, and have found immense popularity among drag racers and street demons alike. This particular package is specifically engineered for GM’s HD trucks from 2020-2022 that came equipped with the 6.6-liter gasser. Known internally as the L8T, the V-8 provides 2500 and 3500 customers with 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque.
Whipple has solved that by way of more air, installing their latest Gen 5 3.0-liter supercharger on the big V-8. The twin-screw setup is backed by the brand’s bespoke oversize air-to-water intercooler, which is constructed in a bar-and-plate style. There’s even an intercooler bypass system that helps cut losses to less than 1 hp during cruising or towing. The package is rated at 500 hp and up to 700 lb-ft of torque, which brings the gasser more in line with the Duramax.
