So... where CAN you safely bring your camera as a photographer in San Francisco without being violently robbed?

I’ve been robbed of camera gear in SF. I have 3 different friends who have been robbed of their gear in SF. If you go, bring a bike lock and tether it though the handles of the cases and attach it to a secure point in your trunk.

My camera and I went everywhere in SF in Aug without a problem. I’ll happily go back.

A lot of this could be easily resolved by camera manufacturers adding simple security features via. Firmware updates. Phone thefts have gone down so much because without the passcodes, they're essentially bricks.

It’s too bad sfgov can’t do something about this. It’s sad that literally every photographer in the country knows now not to go there.

Tl:dr: “There aren’t any, use your iPhone” essentially. Sad state of affairs for a beautiful city.
