Given all of that, “the vast majority of experts in the public health and epidemiology space really get the sense that ― at this point, with the contagiousness of the delta variant and how prevalent COVID remains ― herd immunity is not possible any longer,” Iahn Gonsenhauser, chief quality and patient safety officer at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, told HuffPost this week.
But he personally doesn’t think that scenario is likely, nor does he think the delta variant is contagious enough to reach that point. And any version of that scenario would likely come with a profound human cost: thousands more people dead or with reduced quality of life, and further strain on a health care system that is already overwhelmed.
“Vaccination is our pathway out of this,” Gonsenhauser said. “With increases in vaccine uptake will come decreases in community prevalence, will come decreases in transmission, and will come a return to normalcy.”The prospect of living with COVID-19 indefinitely sounds bleak, but experts say there is plenty to feel hopeful about, both now and in the future.
Just like we used to live with all the other viruses in the world before they made this one a weapon. So just like all the rest of the viruses, you just live and don't act like it is something way bigger and badder than it ever has been. Just go back to life.

The 'flu' narrative stinks - like saying that worldwide we must have a seasonal cull of the vulnerable and elderly. Flu has points of origin. Zoonotic events. Better hygiene practices as during this pandemic would reduce flu deaths. Why benchmark death!

If science and doctors have been able to make it so that people no longer talk about AIDS and sleep around so willingly unprotected/without concern, they can eradicate COVID19! People who saying COVID here to stay are the CROOKS profiting off of it! 🤨
