The Pleasant Grove Library is hosting two free songwriting workshops for kids in August. The classes, taught by local musician Kirschen TeX Wolford, allow children ages 6-18 to create an original song from scratch.During the class, there will be breakout sessions allowing the students to get hands-on experience with the musical instruments. Aug 5th and Aug 12th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Library, 7310 Lake June Road, Dallas.
This free workshop will be Aug 10-11, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Aug 11-12, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Mi Barrio, 4105 Urban Ave., Dallas.The Pleasant Oaks Recreation Center offers karate lessons every week. Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:15 to 8 p.m. $85 per month, plus $85 for registration and uniform.The karate lessons are for children ages 6 and up. The Pleasant Oaks Recreation Center is located at 8701 Greenmound Avenue.
