Here's what parents need to know about the Covid-19 vaccination:

“I would say it was intensified and that after each phase of the study it was analyzed in a quicker fashion than normally maybe so,” Greissman explained. “This does not mean it was rushed, it was just worked on more aggressively versus it being put to the bottom of the list.”

She explained that while some doctors have been arguing for this testing to start earlier, with Covid-19 impacting adults the hardest, getting the vaccines prepared for the adult population has been the priority. That means parents will likely get a chance to see how the vaccines are working in the general public before having to consider inoculating their children. But when it comes to that, there are still several things parents will want to consider.

“But we know the risk of the Covid virus is very high and the benefit with this vaccine will be a 90 percent chance of preventing the Covid virus from causing harm to a patient,” he said. “You have the option to not get the vaccine, but then you are increasing your risk of catching the virus exponentially.”
