While only separated by 12 miles in Cumberland County, I find it interesting and ironic that Cumberland Valley School District invited, disinvited, and re-invited Maulik Pancholy to speak to middle school students about bullying.
A week later, Dickinson College invited and disinvited Michael Smerconish to give a commencement address to college graduates. I find it very concerning that after four years of a college education, graduates somehow do not have enough open-mindedness and confidence in their critical thinking skills to listen to a speaker with whom they might not agree.
