Dr. Monica VanTyne, a tall white woman with dark hair, stands from the desk to greet them and offers a hand to shake. She gestures them toward the couch. “Please, call me Monica,” she says.

She waits, expecting him to explain why this is relevant, but he doesn’t add anything more.
