The White House could announce Biden’s pick to lead NASA as soon as today. And the space community seems to be warming to the prospect that it will be former Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida.

to compete for NASA’s lunar lander, is one of three companies selected last year to begin designing and building vehicles to bring astronauts to the moon. But it plans to do more than prove its concept on the demo mission ahead of delivering astronauts, Brent Sherwood, vice president of Advanced Development Programs at Blue Origin, tells us, by laying the cornerstone for a lunar outpost.

Because the lander will have built-in power, computers and telecommunications, it’s well-suited for potential commercial customers who want to work on the moon’s surface, Sherwood said. Total BS headline. What “space community” is warning to Bill Nelson? The sentiment from the space community is pretty much: “please let it be ANYONE but Bill Nelson!!!”

He looks 200 years old.

Do we need NASA? Is it a waste of money when the private has shown better at a fraction of the cost.

78 years old? Is there any Gen X people ever going to get a chance?

For a guy who used his astronaut credentials to win and maintain his position, he is remembered for doing very little for the space industry. Empty suit.

Hope it doesn't put the space program back after its been doing so well again under Trump...

Such a youthful administration.

Those seniors have to stick together.

Did we even have a heliocentric model of the solar system when he was in school?

Can his pick rocket Lying Joe, Comma-Lie and the cruel and feckless Congress to outer space? We earthlings would be a lot better off.

Who is warming to it?

Bezos' Blue Origin protests NASA awarding astronaut lunar lander contract to Musk's SpaceXJeff Bezos' Blue Origin filed a GAO protest against NASA, challenging the award of a nearly $3 billion contract to Elon Musk's SpaceX earlier this month. Greediest man alive, literally wiped out small businesses everywhere yet keeps calling foul against others (i.e. MSFT getting the defense contract etc). Bezos needs to send a spaceship (successfully... a few times) in orbit before crying to NASA for a contract. He's not in the same league.
