This is what a small business owner did to make TheProfitCNBC's marcuslemonis 'furious.' via CNBCMakeIt

“I hadn’t dealt with a narcissist to this degree,” says Marcus Lemonis about Dino Pavoni, the owner of Simply Slices, a family-run drive-through pizza chain in the suburbs of Chicago featured on Tuesday's episode of the "The Profit" on CNBC.

According to Lemonis, Pavoni may be his own worst enemy — he's controlling and disrespectful. That's a recipe for failure when you're the boss, according to Lemonis. “I was concerned about the well-being of the family,” Lemonis tells CNBC Make It. “[Dino Pavoni’s] control over the business — and over the family, and over his kids — was so constricting that he was not only running them off, but any chance that the business had to be successful was put out in a New York second.”

Lemonis later becomes “furious” when Dino completely skips a meeting with him and Doug to discuss the restaurants, which Lemonis calls “disrespectful.”

Meal kit companies find the business is a rather small plateThe biggest players — Blue Apron and HelloFresh — are seeing soft demand from consumers but heightened competition from restaurants, grocers and niche players. Grubhub and Doordash will bring you dinner all prepared, no dishes to clean up. I use Sun Basket, which isn’t mentioned in your story, the most. Yes, it’s not as convenient as getting takeout but the point is to still be getting a fancier meal than I otherwise would prep for and home-cooking it to control oil and sodium intake.
