What a Republican victory in North Carolina means for 2020

The trade war with China has intensified, the Mueller investigation concluded, the president has sent 4,800 tweets.

That interpretation is kind to Republicans. No Democrat ought to have been competitive in the district, which stretches from suburban Charlotte to Fayetteville in the east. “The Most Patriotic City In The” is just outside the gates of Fort Bragg, a military base which covers 160,000 acres and is home to 50,000 soldiers and 25,000 of their family members.Yet the Republican candidate would probably have lost but for a particularly good result in Robeson county .

One-off elections are not always good predictors of what comes next, but the mid-term results in 2018 were in line with the special elections that preceded them. There are 32 seats currently held by Republicans that Mr Trump won by fewer than 12 points.

What it means is the people in NC-9 is ok with a party that supports a con-man, a liar, a cheat, a man who has admitted grabbing women's pussies, and a man who can't keep his word (ask one of his three wives or his several mistresses). Me, I think I deserve better.

Ignores the massive cheating, gerrymandering, and other forms of voter suppression done quite openly by NC Republicans. Until the media tells the truth about what the GOP is doing to destroy democracy in America, nothing will get better.

Lemmings. No thinking. Just follow the pack no matter where they lead you.

the USA could use about 3000 more members of Congress, roughly 1 per 100 000 citizens, the current ratio is so astronomically high that it puts government beyond reach

The typical American voter - uninformed.

Factor in voter suppression & purging the voter rolls.

Can we PLEASE get some voter education for the love of all that is good and just
