Wells Fargo CEO apologizes for remark about diverse talent.

"I've worked in the financial services industry for many years, and it's clear to me that, across the industry, we have not done enough to improve diversity, especially at senior leadership levels," Scharf said in a statement on Wednesday.

He also made the assertion in a company-wide memo June 18 that announced diversity initiatives as nationwide protests broke out following the death of George Floyd, an unarmed African-American man, in police custody. "I've worked in the financial services industry for many years, and it's clear to me that, across the industry, we have not done enough to improve diversity, especially at senior leadership levels," Scharf said in a statement on Wednesday."Perhaps it's the CEO of Wells Fargo who lacks the talent to recruit Black workers," U.S. Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted.

The CEO of the largest U.S. bank employer has pledged to double the number of Black leaders over five years and tied executive compensation to reaching diversity goals. He is also requiring hiring managers to consider diverse candidates for high-paying roles that are vacant and ensure diversity on interview teams.

Not good enough to apologise just because you've been caught. This guy should be history

He's 100% correct. For a job requiring a relatively high level of intelligence, the of black candidates is dwarfed by of white candidates. And given diversity quotas, those high IQ blacks are in extremely high demand.

Oh well... ok then, maybe we should give him a golden parachute and he can retire !

Too bad he apologized, his comment was accurate. Funny how the truth gets liberals mad.

He ain’t sorry! 😏😏😏

As soon as I see an article that starts out “ Wells Fargo” ; I’m sure it’s going to be about some other slimy thing they’ve done. But don’t worry, they won’t do it again.

Usually this means that they don’t have enough applicants who have top schools and impressive internships on thier resumes. Working class kids strive to get the degree and don’t know the inside game so they are viewed as less qualified

Why would black people be interested in working on the white banking plantation.? This dude is clueless about American culture.

Too little too late, buddy. I'm gone. Don't need my money in a bank you are running. Your mindset is poison.

They have to hire the best candidate no matter what color. It is also discrimination to hire someone less qualified based on the color of their skin no matter what color white or black.

hes telling the truth. Who would you want to hire?
