The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is warning motorists about an upcoming road closure that could impact tens of thousands of motorists.During the weekend of May 10-13, construction crews will shut down a portion of Route 30 in Lancaster County . Contractors are set to demolish the bridge that carries southbound Route 222 over Route 30. The work is part of the $72 million Interchange Improvement Project.
PennDOT is asking people to avoid the area but has mapped out several detour routes for motorists to use:The detour for eastbound Route 30 will use Route 501 south to Route 222 south to Duke Street to Route 23 east to Route 30.The detour for eastbound Route 30 to northbound Route 222 will use Route 272 to Jake Landon Road and northbound Route 222.
