On Monday, WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus cautioned that Omicron may not be the last important variant of the pandemic to appearoptimistic that this could be the last year of the pandemic’s “acute” phase, so long as important goals like vaccinating 70% of the world’s population are reached.
