After more than two decades on the air, PBS Kids has announced that “Caillou” will be no more.
The animated series, which was produced in Canada and premiered in 2000, centered on its inquisitive, eternal 4-year-old namesake and his family. And although children can't seem to get enough of the little bald guy, many parents will tell you he’s the bane of their existence. Just ask Michigan mom Kate McKenzie, who created a“Caillou is a whiny, bratty child, and his show holds no educational value. Children who watch this program tend to copy Caillou’s behavior. Whining, demanding,g and screaming…” McKenzie wrote at the time.
In 2017, “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver took issue with “Caillou," describing it as a boring show “about a bald Canadian child who lives a life devoid of any incident.” Meanwhile, popular parenting blogger Bunmi Laditan once shared a tutorial called"How to Block Caillou on Netflix."
Thank goodness not behavior I want my children to display
There's this funny thing about TV, cable and streaming services - if you don't like what is on, CHANGE THE CHANNEL ! Even better, turn the damn thing off and stop using it as a babysitter...
It’s time to spank your children again not beat them just correct them it’s time to teach children how to show respect again. Spare the rod doesn’t work.
My daughter watched this show a few times as a toddler and after all the whining, I had enough and just didn't turn it on anymore. He drove me crazy and I didn't want my daughter to get hooked and start whining or talk baby talk. It was on a long time, my daughter is 19 now.

I would have used this show of an example of what NOT to do...the parents SHOULD of say with kid and talk to them about it...y’all getting lazy to parent...
I never found a problem with Caillou. Too bad parents couldn't use the show to teach children that is not how children should behave if they had a problem with Caillou.

Sad. It was a good show. I don’t care what every one says because that is your opinion.
Amen. This is one of the few kids’ shows my kids weren’t banned from watching.
