Twelve years after launching Hodinkee, Ben Clymer's watch site is now valued at more than $100 million and has just received $40 million in Series B investments from John Mayer, Tom Brady and others.

It was just about 14 years ago that Benjamin Clymer opted out of the banking world an into the watch world – opening a small blog calledand writing about timepieces. Now, the brand has just closed a Series B Funding through TCG that witnessed a $40 million investment from investors such as LVMH Luxury Ventures, True Ventures, Future Shape and others, including quarterback Tom Brady, Grammy winner John Mayer and GV . This means that Hodinkee is now valued at a sum upwards of $100 million.

Bateman’s years of experience as an e-commerce professional makes him uniquely qualified for the role of directing both content and retail sales.It is expected that the investments will be used not only to enhance the editorial portion of the business, including adding writers and photographers for its online content and its Hodinkee print magazine, but also to grow the e-commerce side of Hodinkee, which has become incredibly lucrative.
