Watch: Kari Lake one-on-one interview to air Sunday after Hobbs' refusal to debate

Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake will appear in a half-hour interview Sunday evening, the culmination of weeks of back-and-forth between Lake and her opponent, Democrat Katie Hobbs, over whether the candidates would participate in a traditional debate.

The question-and-answer format interview sponsored by the Arizona Clean Elections Commission will air at 5 p.m. on KAZT channel 7, with conservative talk show host Mike Broomhead of radio station KTAR serving as interviewer. The interview will broadcast across the state and will stream on azcentral.com. It was recorded Saturday.

Lake was initially scheduled to sit for a Clean Elections-sponsored interview on Arizona PBS earlier this month after Hobbs declined to participate in a debate. That after the television station offered Hobbs the same opportunity for an on-camera experience. Clean Elections had already rejected a request from Hobbs for such an interview in a public vote of the commission, andLake's Sunday interview airs just a little more than two weeks before Election Day, as some voters already have cast their early ballots.
