Landowners interested in hosting large numbers of rounded-up wild horses on their property can now apply with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

Participants in the private-pasture system must live in 14 Western and Midwestern states, from eastern Washington to the Texas Panhandle. Over two-thirds of the 37 existing off-range pastures are in Oklahoma and Kansas.
Working with the government can be demanding, but providing for the over 130 horses on the Wind River Wild Horse Sanctuary on the ranch isn’t too difficult, Oldham said. However, the group doesn’t oppose off-range pastures as an alternative to keeping wild horses in corrals for long periods.

Cattle are grazing on our public lands for paltry grazing fees - not even enough to manage those same lands. Taxpayers foot that bill. They are cruelly rounding up horses to make room for cattle. Use humane birth control methods and you wouldn’t have this problem.
But were killing wolves off and other natural predators so we have to storms far more on over population of herbivores in pasture and plains areas. Totally awesome idea.

Overpopulated is the wrong term. Lands that were once zoned 4 wild horses R now being leased out 2 cattle ranchers. Do not B fooled. Their lands R shrinking & they R re-homing these majestic creatures. Even, cruely transporting them in cattle double-decker trailers 4 slaughter.
