Want to see Caitlin Clark in Dallas? WNBA tickets are already pricey

The Wings were near the bottom of the league in attendance last year. A few games against Indiana will definitely help.

A year ago the Wings averaged 4,641 fans per game. That’s a far cry from the 9,000-10,000 that Las Vegas and Phoenix and Seattle bring in nightly. Only three teams were below the Wings,, and Caitlin’s future Indiana squad was one of them, so that’s one number that’s going to shoot past the Wings in 2024.

Ratings for Sunday’s ABC telecast will be out later Monday, but they will be enormous for an afternoon game. It could beat Monday’s UConn-Purdue men’s title game. And for a few minutes Sunday, it certainly looked as if Clark’s final college trick would be knocking the unbeaten Gamecocks off their perch.She scored 11 points from all over the court in the opening four minutes for an 18-7 lead.

That includes rooms all across the WNBA, a league that has never managed to capture the college game’s appeal. But the WNBA has never had a rookie of Clark’s star quality , so here’s hoping UConn veteran coach Geno Auriemma is right. He mused Thursday about how Clark might have a Bird-Magic-like impact on the professional game.
