rolandsmartin It is definitely wrong but I don’t think it’s driven by racism. Many stores lock up items that are more likely to be stolen. In liquor stores some bottles are fitted with theft detection devises for the same reason , and not because African-Americans drink it.

Maybe you should ask? Are these products being shoplifted at a significant rate? Then good cause that effects everyones price? Would you rather they just charge you .50 more per product to cover theft? They could do that. Stop looking for racism where reality lives.

I've seen products locked up in stores that do not appear to be based on race, such as at Target. It would be different if there was sufficient staff to assist but it's tough enough just getting someone to take your money these days let alone unlock a case. Shop elsewhere.

What? I have naturally curly hair and have to use hair products that are also used by black women alot of times. Our walmart doesn't do this. The perfumes,colognes, jewelery, and alot of electronics are locked in cases.
