Walmart issues apology for Uvalde shirt amid backlash on social media

Cross responded to the shirt in his caption, referencing the tragic events in Uvalde: “Oh you know, that town by San Antonio whereWalmart emphasized its commitment to local communities, explaining that while the intention behind the shirt was positive, they regret any offense it may have caused. “Our stores have always been central to the communities they serve, and our store managers have the ability to purchase merchandise that is locally relevant,” a statement from Walmart reads. “Though well intended, we apologize for any distress this item has caused.”Moriah Ballard joined the KPRC 2 digital team in the fall of 2021.
