Wallace is looking to help children get an early answer to the question,"What do you want to be when you grow up?" DOTHAN , Ala. - The Kids College program is something Wallace Community College looks forward to every year, but this time around, it’s a little more special.
“You know, COVID hit in 2020, so we’ve been lagging since,” said Kecia Forehand, Workforce Development Coordinator at Wallace Community College. “We really wanted to rebuild the program.” Trying to give students a better experience, they partnered with their career and technical department and created STEM Camp.“What’s so exciting is that they get to see what actually happens in our college courses,” said Associate Dean for Career and Tech Education Martha Compton. “They’re all learning new concepts and ideas.”“We brought in 3D printing,” said Compton. “We talk to them about manufacturing.
