VOTE: How do you use toll roads in Washington state?

Two plans are on the table to raise toll rates on the State Route 520 bridge. Nearly 200,000 people cross the bridge every day.The Washington State Transportation Commission will pick a plan for raising tolls on the SR 520 bridge.Would increase tolls across the board by 10%. The adjustment would increase rates 15 to 45 cents depending on the time of day and day of the week.Would also increase tolls by about 10%. But there would only be six price variations instead of eight.

The state says the law requires them to change rates to maintain travel times, speed and reliability on the corridor, and to generate revenue required to cover financial commitments. In December, the state treasurer determined current rates would not be enough to meet those needs by July 2025.But there will be a virtual public hearing on whichever plan the commission picks on Wednesday.
