Vivienne Westwood Proves She’s the Punk Queen of At-Home Style

If you’re looking for radical WFH inspiration, then it might be worth checking Vivienne Westwood’s Instagram. This morning, the 79-year-old designer posted an image of herself posing in a rustic garden doorway, presumably in the English countryside, wearing quite the look. In addition to a distressed gray shawl, leather gloves hiked up to her elbows, and a graphic top that was cinched with a well-worn brown belt, she wore a pair of nude tights with a strategically placed bull’s eye fig leaf.

Die-hard Westwood fans will recognize the tights as a rare archival piece dating back over 30 years, specifically to her fall 1989 collection titled “Voyage to Cythera.” The photo was taken by her husband Andreas Kronthaler who treated Westwood’s followers to a close-up of the fig leaf, which appears to be made out of stained, reflective glass. Currently, a similar bodysuit is on sale onOf course, this wasn’t just any ol’ outfit for any ol’ day of working at home.

The videos, which have views ranging from 400 to 1400, are an Internet treasure, providing us with some insight into Westwood’s history-making designs but also her thoughts on the future of humanity.
