On May 31, Etute returned to the victim’s residence where he found out that “Angie” was actually Smith, Turk said. Officers found Smith after responding to a welfare check at his residence about 10:30 p.m. ET June 1, according to the Blacksburg Police Department. Investigators ruled the death a homicide and later identified Etute as a person of interest in the case.

I'm surprised no one is talking about the age difference. Perpetrator is 18. Victim is 40. 22 year age difference. I don't condone violence, but the victim should have told the 18 year old he was male.
