Viewing for Johnny Canales will be open to the public

Fans of Johnny Canales are invited to attend a public viewing next Tuesday, his family announced on social media. The legendary host of “The Johnny Canales Show” died Thursday. He was 76. The viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Selena Auditorium in Corpus Christi . “We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the life of Johnny Canales with an open to the public viewing on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Selena Auditorium,” the post read.

A May 17 post on the Facebook page for Corpus Christi Cronica, a community news site, said Canales “has been dealing with health complications since 2008 after a stroke.” A couple of days later, Canales responded with a video, thanking his fans for their prayers and support.
