Ortiz previously told IndyStar surveillance video of the incident is consistent with the grandfather's assertion that he believed the window was closed.Anello appeared in court in Puerto Rico Tuesday for a pretrial conference, where prosecutors said they discussed the possibility of resolving the case without the need for a trial with his attorneys.

I do not understand why Puerto Rico is doing this criminal prosecution of the grandfather. I just do not. This was a horrible accident. I seriously doubt that the grandfather intended for the child to fall out of the window. Criminal charges of any form do not seem warranted.
