The strong words of caution came in a letter from Cardinal Luis Ladaria, prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, addressed to Archbishop José Gomez of Los Angeles, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Ladaria made several other points that could complicate the plans of bishops pressing for tough action: — He questioned the USCCB policy identifying abortion as “the preeminent” moral issue, saying it would be misleading if any new document “were to give the impression that abortion and euthanasia alone constitute the only grave matters of Catholic moral and social teaching that demand the fullest accountability on the part of Catholics.”

Racist policies are definitely not prolife.They harm and even kill children as well as adults. Over the past year and a half we've seen the violence of the everyday existence of minorities. The fact that their plight is not the priority of a prolife archbishop is frightening.
I recognize code when I see it. I don't speak Catholic though, so I'm not sure what the meta is other than 'tread lightly and rethink this'.

Of all the terrible sins, abhorred by the Bible, abortion and homophobia seem to be the only ones detested, the most, by some sections of American Christians and politicians. Might add that blacks are regarded as a sin too.

Thought of the day:Women who have an abortion performed can recieve communion if they ask forgiveness. Men who merely think women should have the choice can be denied. How about those who think the death penalty is okay? Catholics are firmly pro life. Will those people be denied?
A decision by the US Roman Catholic Bishops to deny President Biden Communion would be a disaster for the Church.
